What is The Praxis Embodied Writing Collective?
The Praxis Embodied Writing Collective takes the deep-dive work we do in our monthly GUTS Embodied Writing Retreats, and makes it make sense in our real lives, from the seat at our own writing desk at home.
It is a VIRTUAL, monthly reflective, and experiential embodied writing collective that weaves together:
-
Writing development: skill, craft, voice, narrative shaping
-
Somatic embodiment of rootstalk stories: ancestral, intuitive, nervous-system-based knowing
-
Purposeful action: taking aligned steps in life and work that emerge from the writing
Through The Praxis, writers don’t just produce writing; instead, they evolve as storytellers, as creators, as humans. This collective launches the writing alchemy that happens through the body, through the page, and through the stories that shape us and a power-path to accountability in your writing life with an entry point meant to be possible for even the most beginning writer.

What is The Praxis 1:1 ?
The Praxis 1:1 is a 3-month intensive, reflective, and experiential embodied writing coaching exchange and creative partnership.
It weaves together:
-
Writing development: skill, craft, voice, narrative shaping
-
Somatic embodiment of rootstalk stories: ancestral, intuitive, nervous-system-based knowing
-
Purposeful action: taking aligned steps in life and work that emerge from the writing
It is more than a writing program—
it is a lived process of becoming.
A transformation that happens through the body, through the page, and through the stories that shape us.
Through The Praxis, writers don’t just produce writing.
They evolve as storytellers, as creators, as humans.
Unique for Writers
Most writing programs focus on craft. Some focus on mindset. A few invite reflection.
The Praxis 1:1 does all of these—but through a somatic, relational, land-rooted lens that only this unique work brings.
This embodied writing approach recognizes that:
1. Writing is a full-body, not just a cognitive, act.
Writers often stay in our heads—analysis, narrative logic, revision, structure.
Somatic literacy work teaches us to listen to our bodies as a source of story.
This means writing arises not just from intellect, but from breath, posture, nervous system state, and ancestral patterning.
Through my Somatic Literacy methods, writers learn to:
-
Track sensations as data
-
Use breath to open creative channels
-
Honor instinct, intuition, and rhythm as part of craft
-
Move from survival mode into creative possibility
This transforms writing from “output” into embodied expression—something most traditional programs simply don’t address.
2. The Praxis reconnects writers with rootstalk stories.
My embodied writing coaching helps you trace the stories living beneath your surface:
the inherited, cultural, ancestral, and internalized narratives shaping voice, pattern, and meaning.
Rather than bypassing these root stories through technique, The Praxis brings writers into ethical, grounded relationship with them.
Writers learn to:
-
Identify where a story lives in the body
-
Recognize when a generational pattern is shaping a draft
-
Write from rootedness rather than reactivity
-
Transform personal experience into purpose-driven expression
This makes The Praxis not just developmental—it’s liberatory.
3. Somatic literacy is a writing tool.
I teach writers how to feel their way through block, resistance, and creative activation.
This includes:
-
Somatic mapping
-
Grounding and orienting practices
-
Gentle nervous system regulation
-
Embodied inquiry
-
Movement-based creative ignition
Instead of forcing productivity, writers learn to co-regulate with their work.
The outcome: writing becomes more intuitive, more alive, and more sustainable.
No other writing process integrates craft development + nervous system attunement + embodied story work the way The Praxis does.
4. The Praxis centers lived practice—not detached theory.
Many programs teach writing “skills.”
My approach integrates practice in the body, on the page, and in the world.
Writers experience:
-
Weekly embodied sessions
-
Writing sprints that emerge from instinct and sensation
-
Reflective processes that tie each piece to purpose
-
Integration prompts that connect inner work to outer action
This is a cycle of learn → embody → write → apply, which is rare in writing development spaces.
The Praxis Includes:
- 3-month partnership with extension possibilities
- Discovery and Plan Session for Goal-Setting
- LIVE Weekly Support in TWO WAYS
- Weekly ASYNCHRONOUS support and guidance
- Optional Daily Support
- At the end of The Praxis there are two things we do: Ceremony and Commitment
